WASHINGTON – Kevin Keane, interim president and CEO of American Beverage, announced the appointment of legislative and regulatory affairs veteran Amy Brink as senior vice president for external affairs.

Brink joins American Beverage from the Alliance for Automotive Innovation, where she served as vice president of state government affairs for an association representing the manufacturers and suppliers to the U.S. auto industry that support 10 million American jobs.

“Amy’s extensive track record of working successfully with an array of industry voices on priority issues will be of immense value to our efforts,” Keane said. “She is a seasoned professional with a keen understanding of legislative and regulatory affairs. Her leadership will help us continue to drive solutions and advocate on behalf of America’s leading beverage companies. We are thrilled to have Amy as part of the team.”

Brink will oversee state and external affairs work for the non-alcoholic beverage industry, as well as play a leadership role in issues management. She will be a senior member of the Department of Government & Public Affairs, reporting to Keane.

Brink led advocacy efforts for more than a decade at the automotive alliance, where she oversaw strategic and tactical state engagement and spent several years as the lead negotiator on motor vehicle franchise legislation nationwide. 

Prior to her work at the alliance, Brink worked on developing member communication initiatives at the National Retail Federation, the nation’s largest retail association. Prior to that she clerked for both the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the D.C. Superior Court. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Brink grew up in Lansing, Mich. She received her bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and her law degree at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, D.C. She lives in Alexandria, Va., with her husband and three children.
