Recently, we here at Sip & Savor have been sharing a lot of outside voices that are speaking up against the impending soda ban in New York City. As the implementation date of the ban grows closer, individuals and businesses are grappling with new costs and inconveniences the ban will cause, as detailed earlier this week in the New York Post. Today, the editorial team at the New York Post wrote about “Bloomberg’s thirst” and his call to the state to broaden the soda ban statewide (Governor Cuomo later responded that the state is “not considering it”…)

The New York Post editorial explains:

“Confronted with revelations that his ban on jumbo-size soda is far more extensive than New Yorkers have realized, Mayor Bloomberg showed that his thirst for control remains unquenched: If he can’t impose his preferences on everyone, then the state should do it for him…

…In other words, the answer to problems caused by big government is even bigger government.”

We encourage you to read the full editorial, and let us know what you think on Facebook and Twitter.
