In partnership with President Bill Clinton, our industry has dramatically changed the beverage landscape in schools across the country. We voluntarily removed full-calorie soft drinks from schools and replaced them with more lower-calorie, smaller-portion options. Today, there are 90 percent fewer beverage calories shipped to schools nationwide, according to Keybridge Research.

Our national School Beverage Guidelines were highlighted recently by the West Virginia Register-Herald in an article on childhood obesity. The West Virginia Beverage Association discussed our industry’s promise to playing a role in the solution to obesity:

“…what makes sense is to get people to the table and talk about what we can do to be part of the solution. The beverage industry has done that. It will continue to do that.”
