In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, The Coca-Cola Foundation has announced it will award a total of $13.5 million in grants to five non-profit organizations working on the front lines of the US and Canadian humanitarian response to the pandemic. The contribution will support organizations dedicated to providing relief to first responders and residents of economically disadvantaged communities in the company’s hometown of Atlanta and across North America.
To help alleviate the growing impact of COVID-19 in more vulnerable communities, The Coca-Cola Foundation has also donated $5 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America to help the organization engage millions of students in communities where schools have closed. Relief efforts will include distributing crucial supplies, food, bottled water, and operating Club locations for longer hours. The money will also help implement contingency plans to meet community needs and provide emergency relief funding to support Clubs in the communities hit hardest by the pandemic.
