Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day – and it marks what would’ve been Dr. King’s 85th birthday. For some, this federal holiday provided an opportunity to enjoy a relaxing day to perhaps connect with friends and family.  For many, it is a time of reflection and service.

In our nation’s capital, the National Park Service placed a wreath at the Lincoln Memorial on the very steps where Dr. King gave his famous “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. If you are in the Washington, D.C., area, here some events to help you celebrate the legacy of Dr. King.
