Here in the nation’s capital it is, unfortunately, a gray, rainy day.  On days like this, it’s easy to think about lying around and doing very little.  If that’s how you’re feeling today, we’d like to share a message of motivation:  get up and move around!  Balancing our calories from all we eat and drink with those we burn through physical activity is the key to living a balanced, active and healthy lifestyle.  And, while it may be okay to “let things slide” every once in a while, don’t fall prey to what can be a more sedentary lifestyle come fall and winter. And we know it can be especially difficult with children when they can’t run around in the backyard or at the neighborhood playground. So today we thought we’d help prepare you for weather which, we know, will find all of us “trapped” inside at one point or another.  If you’re looking for ways to entertain your children while keeping the active, we found a great article that is filled with tips on how to do just that.  And even if you don’t have children in your life, there are plenty of ways to stay active:  join a gym, walk the mall (or a museum depending on your shopping tendencies) or turn on that TV – but to do some yoga on demand!

Enjoy your fall – even if the weather is less than inviting – and remember: balance is key!
