Approaching the month of June is usually a happy time as parents watch their high school children achieve a significant graduation milestone, and many of us gear up for summer vacations. But for many, the coming month may bring a sigh of relief as we reach the end of tornado season.  Unfortunately, however, communities across the country are still reeling from the havoc wreaked by this year’s many tornadoes.  Just yesterday, a tornado which “may have been the single deadliest in the country since 1953,” hit Joplin, Mo., ripping a 6 mile path through the city and leaving death and destruction in its wake.

On this sad day, we send our thoughts and prayers to all in the Midwest and beyond who have been impacted by these tragedies in the recent days and months. And while we can never recover those who were lost, we hope that the rebuilding of not just buildings, but lives, happens quickly.
