Across the country today, voters will head to the polls to elect state and city leaders and decide certain ballot issues.  In New Jersey and Virginia, voters will select their governor.  And according to ABCNews.com, there is plenty of action happening in cities nationwide:

“Hundreds of cities across the country are also electing mayors – including Atlanta, Miami, Detroit, Houston, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. In New York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg will be replaced after 12 years — almost certainly by Democrat Bill de Blasio, who’ll be the first Democrat to lead the city in two decades.  In Boston, voters will elect a replacement for Mayor Thomas Menino, who’s been in office since 1993.”

Wherever you live and vote, be sure to check in with your state’s board of elections for details on how to perform your civic duty!
