Have you ever passed by a bakery or otherwise caught a smell that takes you down memory lane?  Here at Sip & Savor just the passing scent of a Christmas tree helps bring back many memories of the holiday season.

Last night following a long tradition first set in 1923 by President Calvin Coolidge and First Lady Grace Coolidge, President Obama flipped the switch to light the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse – just outside the White House.

If you did not get the chance to see the National Christmas Tree lighting last night, you can watch the entire ceremony on the National Parks Service website.  And if you can brave the cold, there are free nightly National Christmas Tree musical performances that run through the end of December. The exact times and dates for all performances can found in this schedule.
