Ford recently announced that the carpeting in its Ford Escape will be partially comprised of recycled plastic bottles.  Now that’s “Thinking Inside the Bin!”  We’re also told adding the plastic actually makes the carpet more durable!  According to this column we found about the project, it’s estimated that more than four million bottles will be repurposed for the new Escape’s carpeting.

Being environmentally responsible is a continuous effort for our member companies, too.  They are constantly working on new ways of further reducing their impact on the environment. This includes reducing and reusing 100 percent recyclable packaging, using more post-consumer recycled materials and deploying hybrid trucks for deliveries. Our companies are working on saving energy and reducing green house gasses (GHGs), too.
