We here at Sip & Savor have many favorite beverages, but from time to time we like to highlight one beverage or another to illustrate the wide variety of choices.  With harvest season on our minds, we thought we’d take the opportunity to share with our readers some of the many cranberry-containing beverages made by our industry.

The choices are many: from cranberry alone to cranberry blends deliciously combined with flavors such as apple, grape, grapefruit or pomegranate.  They come carbonated or not, as 100 percent juices or as juice drinks in a range of calorie options.

Cranberries can give a special zip to seltzers and flavored waters or teas.  In fact, consumers themselves have long made their own non-alcoholic beverages by combining cranberry juice or other cranberry-flavored beverages with lemon-lime soft drinks and even orange juice.

As we mentioned, it is cranberry harvest time.   If you happen to live in New England, you no doubt have seen the cranberry bogs on local farms.  Coming soon is the 8th Annual Cranberry Harvest Celebration Oct. 8 and 9 in Wareham, Mass.  It’s an opportunity to see how cranberries are grown and to have some family fun at the same time!
