We blogged earlier this week about the several short-sighted attempts by some Connecticut lawmakers to tax soda over the past few years.  Well, we came across another article in the Yale Daily News that explores the topic.

As we’ve said before, it will take a comprehensive effort to solve the complex societal issue of obesity.  And, if we want to get serious about this problem, it starts with education – not laws and regulation.  Moreover, people don’t support soda taxes, that’s why the public policy debate has moved onto real solutions.

We here at Sip & Savor know that a soda tax won’t make people healthier, and it will have a negative impact on business.  We hope you agree.  Residents of Connecticut are smart enough to choose what’s right for their families without government help.
