Actress Jennifer Lawrence, star of The Hunger Games, looks fabulous and sultry on this month’s cover of Elle magazine.  In her interview, she admits, “In Hollywood, I’m obese. I’m considered a fat actress.”

Ouch.

It’s important to keep things in perspective when seeking a balanced lifestyle.  Hollywood and health activists alike have an unrealistic version of what the rest of us should weigh. Hollywood truly follows the mantra, “You can never be too thin or too rich.” Health activists, with their religious adherence to BMI miss the point that good health isn’t one-size-fits-all.

We all agree that good health and a healthy lifestyle require paying attention to what we eat, portion sizes and how much we move. But when every bit or sip is being judged and measured against an ideal, the broader goal of balance and good health is buried.

We want to uncover the information you need to make the choices that are right for you and your family.  That’s why we’ve voluntarily cut calories in schools, in the marketplace and added clear calorie labels to our products.

So go ahead – and keep leading that balanced and active lifestyle with us…even if we don’t make the cut, by Hollywood standards.
