In celebration of our 100th Anniversary, we reflect on how much our industry has developed since 1919.
On November 17, 1943, during the Second World War, the American Bottlers of Carbonated Beverages celebrated its 25th anniversary in St. Louis, Missouri. Our industry was proud to support our country in its war efforts, including organizing an industry-wide scrap metal collection campaign, where more than 60,000 tons of scrap metal were collected and donated.
On November 20, 1969, as the National Soft Drink Association (NSDA), our industry celebrated its 50th anniversary in San Francisco, California. For the first time ever, the three franchise company presidents came together to address delegates and answer questions. This robust discussion covered the future of the industry, product trends and packaging innovation.
On October 24, 1994, the NSDA celebrated its 75th anniversary in Atlanta, Georgia, during InterBev94. Click the image below to view a snippet of the video shown during the event which reflected the industry's past and previewed a bright future.
Through the years, America's beverage companies have always come together to advance our mission - and, on these milestone anniversaries, celebrate our roots and rich history. One thing that will always remain the same is our unity which makes us stronger and allows us to accomplish so much more on behalf of our customers, consumers and communities.
