You may notice that flags are flying at half-mast today to acknowledge National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day – a day when we honor those who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. This "day that will live in infamy" marked a turning point for the world powers, as the United States formally entered the war with Japan, shifting the dynamics of World War II.

We are a nation proud of our history. And that history is tightly bound with feelings of patriotism. Our servicemen and women are a big part of what America means to us.  And we at Sip & Savor want to acknowledge the sacrifices that have been made - and continue to be made - in the name of this country.  We hope our readers take a moment to do so as well.
